1. In what ways is street-vending a positive opportunity for women? In what ways does it reinforce negative conditions for women?
2. "In their pursuit of global competitiveness, employers in a wide range of key export industries favor the kinds of employment relations associated, rightly or wrongly, with women, namely those with insecure contracts, low wages, and few benefits" (Chen's "Women in the Informal Sector: A Global Picture, The Global Movement, pg 7). Is it ultimately beneficial or detrimental to women to be targeted in this way?
3. Does "market citizenship" translate to/lead to "social citizenship"?
